Okay ya'll! About a month ago someone posted about pinching out the top of brugs to see if it would y and bloom earlier...so I did one of mine that kept growing and it is about 6 ft tall now and y'd and has a bud on it and others forming!
You can see the bud almost at top of green roof!
Any feedback!

I have been know to pinch back my first yellow one, but haven't done it on any of the new ones - No y's or buds on the big yellow one yet, it's about 6' tall now with 6 trunks. I'm very tempted!!
for newbies, this is not suggested. if you pinch the trunk, it still has to grow as much as it would have to begin with. or at least that's what I was told last year:) Rebecca has great luck:)
Tig... I didn't cut the trunk or anything! This brug was about 5 ft tall and I only pinched the top leaves out and rooted that piece too!

before it Y'ed? that's still the trunk, but if you only took leaves and no 'meat' ?? I don't know, just wanted to warn new owners that are anxious for blooms not to do that:)
Okay...yes before it y'd it was straight as a board and I pinched out about 2 leaves and I think I may have took a little meat too because it healed over and y'd and now has blooms!
What can I say but it worked! Okay...tell you what I have another that is about 5 ft tall and no y yet...I will take a pic of it tomorrow and pinch it too and will post updates on it just to prove this will work!
Not trying to cause any controversy but fact!

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that someone else had done that.They were told that it was ready to y when they pinched it,that was why it bloomed,I swear they said they actually set it back a little by doing that.
Can't remember who said it though.......
