Covering tree stumps 1

Poppysue's comment in the landscaping forum thread If you could change your yard says she'd take out the maples. In my front yard, there were 2 maples that I cut down, and couldn't afford to have the stumps removed. So, I started raised beds to hide them. Here's a photo taken this June from my rooftop. I should get up there again as there's lots more in this bed now. BTW, the stump is just to the right of the japanese laceleaf maple, about 12" down.

This bed (much smaller then) was the start of raised beds (and my gardening!) in my yard, 3 years ago. I now have about 10.

Look for threads named the same, but #2 and #3, for another bed (#2) and what will be a bed later this year (#3).
