Not quite sure what he is but he posed for a long time so I could get a good close up. The grasshoppers I used to catch when I was a kid were smaller and gray. Couldn't actually see him eating but there is damage to the leaf he was on.

Mary, he looks like a brother to all of the ones we have here. They fly from who knows where as soon as I go into the garden area. I have holes in all my brugs. We found caterpillars eating one of mine and so I've been checking for cats and not finding a thing. I do believe it is this nasty little critter that is doing a lot of the damage. Plus, we have cucumber beetles that just love the blooms and make short work of destroying them as soon or before they open. Yesterday I found a cat inside an unopened bloom, so I'm having to check every part and murder the little devils, just to get one or two blooms that don't have damage.
Is that what is gaping holes in my brugs too? This is war! No rain today and am going to spray with my pepper and garlic tonite!
