Billy,
Here is a picture of that purple Tropical Water Lily that I mentioned was taking over my pond.

Hi. That either looks like a Tina or a Panama pacific. Can you send me a pic of the center of one of those blooms? need a close up to make identifaction. Also send me a pic of one the leaves close up. Thanks. Email me at azsteve905@aol.com
Glory I don't know the name but it sure is pretty!
wow! that's so nice. need to get a piece next spring if you still have plenty.
Billy,
The only way to get a close up of this lily is to get into the pond and where the lily is located the water is 3 1/2 ft deep...maybe I can pull one to the side of the pond with a potato digger. This lily produces little water lilies in the center of the leaves.
tiG,
it is a very pretty lily and it spreads like mad.
Glory...from the looks of your pic you must have a large pond too! I have a 14x20 with plenty of room if you would like to do sase for me!
LMK!
Rebecca
i have the tina, tried to give tig one when she was here. got it from robin, i believe she said it was hardy here last winter. here's a google pic....

if it has a VIP node in center of leaf, it definately has to be either tina or panama pacific. The only way for me to properly identify it is to see close up pic of bloom. Maybe you can pull a bloom off and send me a pic of it.
whaaaa, whine! I didn't know it fell out of the tray!!!!!!!!!!!
Arlene,
Does the Tina have a little button type thing in the middle of the leaf? According to the website Tina is a Tropical Water lily and so is mine...my sister-in-law bought the first one and paid a lot for this thing. I grew my plant from the little baby lily in the center of a leaf.
yes the tina has a button thing in center of leaf. That is what produces offspring.
That's it then....finally it has a name. Thanks all!!!
Becca,
My pond is 20x40....will a tropical lily live in your area during the winter?

Alabama and am coming to Biloxi soon maybe a week or two!
Yep, glory, didn't know what to call it but it gets those. you have a beautiful patch of them. i do enjoy my one bloom a day though!!! i guess yours overwinter okay?
arlene, will that baby be big enough to mail if I sent postage next week??? I want it even worse now!
Becca,
Come on...we're always here. Bring a 5 gallon bucket and you can get into the pond and get a few or maybe you'd just rather have the babies...the large ones do smell once they are pulled form the water..it's up to you. I also have parrots feather if you want some of that. I just threw a few white ones out on the dirt road behind my house the other day...do you need them too....I can go get them back if you want. How about some umbrella plant for the pond? Got some extra of that...it's going on the back road too unless you want it.
Glory...goodness when I come to Biloxi I want to come visit you!Can I invite myself? LOL
I have water lilies that survive winters and my water never gets really cold even when we have snow but I also have a greenhouse I could overwinter it in!
LMK!
Oh no! Keep them all! I will let you know when I'm a comin'! I threw out lots of plants because I thought my fish had parasites but eventually found out it was algae that was killing my fish!
I managed to save most of them and my largest koi which is 3 lbs...
As big as your pond is how big are your fish!
Fish...well not very big. We had this big gray bird like thing stop by and ate a lot of our fish and now we just have small feeder fish but they will grow and I'm sure that crane will return.
Oh that is terrible...I had a beautiful yellow butterfly koi about 2 lbs and saw hawks swooping over pond and he went missing so I beleive they got him!
I will let you know when we are coming!
Becca,
OK
