This is "Gil Whitton" a black centered red tropical hibiscus. I love it!! The center shines like its be laquered.Flat ruffled flowers.6 inches wide

tiG....You don't collect Tropicals Hibiscus?.....they don't take up a lot of room if you keep them trimmed way back in the winter.

Wow, it's beautiful. I love the raspberry red color, fluted edges, and "simonized" shine! Did you "wax" it before taking the picture? :~) Just kiddin'. It's hard to have "just one", isn't it?!

I've never seen a tropical hibiscus I didn't like. This one is a beaut. You guys should have seen the blooms Kyle brought with him yesterday. A pumpkin orange hibiscus and another one that was white with a hit of pink. Gorgeous. Jim really liked the nearly black day lily with a yellow center. The plumeria blooms smelled great and I learned that if you pick any of these flowers early in the morning, they will keep out of water the whole day. When I went inside last night, they were still laying on a table on the deck looking just like new. Couldn't believe it.

You are having a terrible effect of us. I awakened and found I love hibiscus. I don't know if it took on Tig but if you keep showing those lovelies--I will have to have some. YIKS!!!!! Bward..this flower lasted two days now..no water just sitting on the coffee table and its still fresh as if it just opened.Some of the new hybrids last several days.Oh and see my new post todays bloomers part 4
