Went out tonight to see why so many frogs were singing at the pond and be dang if I didn't find out. LOL. They are not ashamed of anything. LOL.
Now I know why my frogs holler all night. LOL
EW! More internet porn! lolol
oooh, la, la!!!!!! Amore
you know us dirty minded ponders. LOL. Thought that was so funny. Want question their singing again. I have babies all over the dang yard from these two's actions. Sounds like a jungle out there.
Welcome to the wonderful world of nature. Our pond get really noisy in the spring, same thing is happening, the babies arrive and then leave. They are great to watch and listen to.Having a pond and all the wild life is great
Froggy lust. I love it. Only mine "do it" in the greenhouse because they are not hardy to Pennsylvania. By the way, the term for this is called "amplexus" Reptile & Herp enthusiasts know this term intimately. LOLOLOLOL I have a couple hundred green tree frog tadpoles in an aquarium in my greenhouse. I raise them til they get their legs, then I sell the little cuties to local petshops. Last year, out of 200, I raised 23. Survival of the fittest. We call ours "barking treefrogs" because they sound like puppies barking when they call.
My sister is a ponder. I was trying to talk to her on the phone and I could hardly hear her cause of the frogs in the backround. She didn't seem to notice at all. Like she hears it all the time and is so used to it.
I have several farm ponds and several bull frogs. I really love their mating call. And I can even tell the different calls myself of different bull frogs.
do any of you have problems with Great Blue Herons? They are beautiful birds, but around here people are saying they are responsible for the reduction in population of our bullfrogs?
KathyJo,
Here they eat my fish.
I have plenty of both, Herons and frogs.. I love them.. The night noises are eerie, but yet tranquil somehow..
Larkie
These two lovefroggies found a new home today. Took them to Memphis TN to a lady that has ponds and was tickled to death to get them. I have plenty more out in yard. But glad to share my wealth with friends. LOL.
I woul;d love to have the green tree frogs, we have the aluminum ones and the brown ones. How far are you from Hattiesburg? I have a friend that lives there.
I am in north Mississippi near Mempis. I am about 4-5 hours from Hattiesburg, MS.
Looks like you have the green treefrog that barks, steve. I've got some in my greenhouse & have well over 300 tadpoles in an aquarium that they laid eggs in. I sell them to petshops as soon as they get their legs. Lots of fun with them. I feed mine Spirulina (algae flakes)
I don't feed mine. They live in pond area's. Guess they are getting enough food. They multiply like crazy.
We have teeny ones on the plants in the Jungle House now, they must have just gotten their legs. They are about as big as my thumbnail.
