Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

here she is, I think it's more pink than peach, but it's a peachy pink.

is it super wide? looks like it is. have you taken a side shot?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

it's not a huge flower, nice size, but not huge. I'm posting what it looks like now, the shot I'll see the most (real time:)

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Beautiful.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

PJ, you didn't go to MS???

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Yep I went Wed am - came back Thur pm. I thought by now I'd have lots of pics to post, but all but one had all the blooms knocked off - so I am patiently waiting. Remember most of my things from Arlene had a longer trip than yours and were shuffled around more.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Azalea, hopefully by the time your company comes they'll be blooming.

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Oh yes, I know they will - I do have lots of buds coming, it will be a veritable paradise in another week, thanks to you!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

here's a side shot, taken about 7:30 am http://davesgarden.com/editgj/viewentry.php?rid=18292

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

PJ, this didnt' come from Arlene's, this I grew from Eric's seeds.

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Oh goody, maybe I will have one like that too from the seeds you gave me!

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Azalea, don't foget BD...... it's a seedling too.

Hamilton, Canada

TiG,
which one is this? Its very delicate and pretty...way to go!!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Very pretty flower tiG.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

joydie, it's one of Eric's crosses, first bloom

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I love the ruffle on this one.

Hamilton, Canada

TiG,

Ok here's my suggestion...lol...cross this one with Butterfly or Dr Seuss-both ways and see if you can get a yellow with a pink edge. I would love to see two toned flowers with colors besides the white/pink , white/peach...etc. Something that would look like the markings on red sanguinea...

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

ohhhh tiG! that is very lovely! drooling here with great admiration. LOL!!! love the form and color. is it fragrant?

FSH, TX

I like the way that one angles upward a bit more than its mother, wide flare, deep veins, comes out of the calyx just wide enough, calyx isn't to large....I like that, but the color isn't uniform. I don't like all that white.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Eric, do you have any idea of the mother??

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Ok,I'm impressed!I love it!!!

FSH, TX

If I had to guess I'd say Isabella. Simply because of the similarities. Color markings, etc. Course, I don't even have an Isabella anymore. Just had her to make that one cross.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

thanks, I truly love this baby. I must have looked at her 100 times today. She smells very nice, not as good as your fragrant white though. How can I cross with fragrant white to get that smell without losing the color?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Hey tiG, I will be its mohter! I love it!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

A beautiful flower tiG. The ruffled edges makes it to something special.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

well, I don't want to rush to name it, what do y'all think? it is very pretty, and the edges are different from any I have

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Its the first flower and they are often bigger and different in look. Wait to see more flowers, before you deceide to give it a name.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

thank you dear! are you doing okay? you haven't said anything lately

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I had health problems tiG and too much work. Having both together was quite a problem.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I'm so sorry. seems like this is a hard summer for a lot of the group.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

It was a sad year for me and a bad start into the summer. I had to dig 3 trees out of my alley because of root rotting.
That never happened to me before. The garden soil is still soaked from the snow melt ( 3m high snow piles) and the heavy winter rains. I didnt realize that.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

That is too bad Monika, for I am sure a beautiful garden would have made you feel better! But then I hope you got to rest more for your garden must take incredible energy to keep it so perfect. A summer of rest. And next year, I hope all is better for you. Your health restored and the weather behaving itself.

FSH, TX

Thanks for your comments Monika, as always your right. Dr.D's first flowers hung down a full foot longer the first time it bloomed due to its abnormally long peduncle. Something it has not shown since.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Monika, I'm so sorry to hear that you had some brug problems too. These plants are so beautiful I don't think I could give up trying to grow them because of a problem, but it certainly is discouraging. I hope your weather has straightened out a lot by now and that things are going well all the way around for you.

Your Friend,

Shirley

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Beautiful!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Thanks for your kind words Shirley. No, I dont let myself getting discouraged, living plants can get sick just as we do too. The Brugmansias patients had to undergo surgery and now I talk to them every day to encourage them to become healthy again. Smile!!!

Its boiling hot again with temp. over 30C, windy and my alley is a bunch of wilted trees.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

It is a beauty !

Monika, Mother Nature can be very hard on the brugs. I hope your weather cools down a bit so your brugs are happier. We've had hot, hot weather but it's cooled down now, today is misty, just a touch of Irish sunshine. Hope you're feeling better too.

Tig, love this brug, is it one of the seedlings from Eric's Isabella x ?.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

it's Isabella x Butterfly :) isn't it pretty!!
