Eric and Arlene,
I hope this picture isn't too big. I just quickly put them together for the purpose of uploading to this thread. Hope this gives you what you want to see Eric. I like the flower, the plant is strong and upright, and the leaves are thick and seem to take winds better than most without getting ragged. I didn't check the pollen on these two blooms as it was getting ready to rain. Tomorrow, but pray we get the rain anyway.
Okay, this will be the last one.
but ms brugie, we need pics tomorow to see color changes!!!!!!! how'd it get yellow in the middle? you take a mean pic.
That really is the way it looked tonight. I didn't have the sun to mess up the picture either. Will check tomorrow for color change unless this storm destroys everything we have here. It is sounding pretty mean out there right now.
this is the angle mine is at tonight, first night. But my bloom doesn't have that shape, at night anyway. What time of day did you take this? it's lovely!
I took this picture around 7:30 tonight. It was getting dark due to the incoming storm. It is a nice color of pink, though I was hoping the first one I posted a picture of would have been the color it stayed.
Very nice pictures Brugie..........such a summer looking brug
I like that one indeed. Very soft pink, flares open just enough, no tiny thin parts of the corolla showing, and the calyx isn't too long either. Angle of the dangle could be a bit higher and the flower could be just a wee bit fatter where it comes out of the calyx, but I do like this one. A very good bridge hybrid.
All your doing, Eric. Glad you like it.
Brugie, well as I see it yours and Tig have two very good characteristics. They both are pink suaveolens x aurea type hybrids..okay..smigen of versicolor, but the most important thing is that they are both early bloomers. As you know, early blooming is one of the first things I select for. I want strong disease resistant Brugmansia first and foremost. Early blooming hybrids just help one to get ahead breeding for colors and shapes in the long run, not the short run.
Eric, mine was planted Jan 1 of this year. It's all I did all day was plant seeds, and that's on the tag. I'm thrilled with mine, but understand that it's not enough to be thrilled :) you answered the one question I was asking, about the mother. I don't have much else blooming at the moment, but will certainly be crossing this one (EK1) with all of your crosses as they start blooming. Dr D is getting close, and will be the first I imagine.
