Who and Who From.

Hi,

I thought I had a Jean Pasco planted here, but Kyle told me the leaves were wrong. So, from the leaf, I decided I had another Dr. Suess. It bloomed today and I don't remember Dr. Suess looking like this. So, can anyone tell me what brug this is and who of you might have given me a start of it. If it turns out to be a Dr. Suess, I know where it came from......ME....The flower only extends about 3-1/2 to 4 inches down from the bottom of the calyx. Quite small at this point. Only about 10-12 inches overall.

Don't know..but I want a piece!! I like the ruffled edges....The colors a little weak..but would still add new genes to my program.Very different kind of bloom. :-)

Hate to jump in here with the news, but I think it is as Jen says, Dr. S. Sure never noticed one have that little ruffle to it when first opened, but the ruffle is pretty much gone today. Sorry Kyle.

brugie, on the pic i posted eric said the calyx looked to be too long to be dr s.

MsJen,
I think I'm just onfused MsJen. I still have a Dr.Sues I got from Native Habitat planted at the neighbors, so I'll have to go over and measure the calyx. Just didn't seem to be so long.

**SOBBING** I just knew it was too good to be true!!**STILL SOBBING** ...LOL :-)

WEll, dry up those tears my friend, we will find something you don't have around here. It would have been nice to see the ruffle stick around though. How does that happen? Just a fluke or what? I mean when you get one permanently.

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

if its any consolation, all the flowers had that ruffled edge.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Wouldn't it be pretty if we could keep the ruffle in it? Sounds like a good job for you Jen....crossing to get a ruffle. :-)
