My First Bloom!!!

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

I am sooo happy!! I finally have a bloom!! I have been watching this thing for days now, just waiting on it to bust open. I was soo happy when it finally did!! Although it isn't quiet finished opening just yet, it's still pretty!
Can't remember the name of it, I just know that Cala sent it to me this past spring.
Many Thanks Cala!!

O tiG I am sooo glad you posted on this, I was just wondering if it was going to open up any more than it is now? I honestly thought that I might have missed it, thought it might have bloomed all the way open this a.m. and I didn't get to see it. So I am still in for a real treat huh?!! If that's the case, I can't wait until dark!!

They are all worth the wait and I know you will love the fragrance once you get a whiff. You took a nice picture of your brug. Just imagine having a bunch of those blooms open all at once. You will be in heaven the first time it happens for you and it will happen.

Molly...congrats! You are hooked too!LOL Is this your first year? This is my second and it gets better and better!

The bloom should open more in the evening...mine close up some during the day and open again in evening!

Enjoy!

What do you mean soon?? I want them all "now"!!! LOL

LOL LOL, congrats with the flower, MollyBee. If this is your first one I can sure promise you, that it won`t be the last. LOL I don`t know its hybrid name, but it is probably an x insignis. The broad part of the flower and the short tips speaks about B. suaveolens (http://davesgarden.com/showforumphoto.php?imageid=15301) and the upper part under the narrow tube is rounded like you can see it in B. versicolor(http://davesgarden.com/showforumphoto.php?imageid=15232).

Molly, if you get out early in the morning and take a picture, it will reveal more what it is and what it really looks like.
