tiG gave me a really nice brug at the roundup and I brought Isabella home and gave her a nice new pot that is bigger than the one she gave her to me in.I went from a 1 gallon to a 3 gallon.
The question is,my brug has put out growth from it's base and quit growing from the top.The leaves are still healthy and green, but all of my growth is in 3 shoots from the root base.
What do I do now????
Also,I haven't fed her yet as I'm not sure what to use....Please advise.
newbie question
hmmmm.... that's strange, it was rooted already and should have kept growing. Feed it Osmocote heavy and then miracle grow twice a week.
Do I do anything about the extra stalks? It looks like the growing tip on the original stalk is just sitting there. I'm wondering if it could have been injured somehow when we brought it home.My car was packed to the gills and it could have been bumped or mashed.
just in case something did happen, let those extras grow. they will grow and bloom just like the original would have. feed it soon and often:)
Thanks tiG....will feed first thing tomorrow.
Just a thought, it could be getting ready to make a Y and that's why it's stopped growing from the tip.
melody that could be. these are above the Y cuttings and one I have from the same batch has a bud.
oh, and mel, are the extras you're talking about seedlings or are they from the plant? I'm forever finding brug seedlings in my pots:)
These look like they are sprouting right off the piece of stem that the original plant is growing from. Everything looks healthy,I was just concerned with the tip of the original plant and possible injury.
Melody.... I have had several brugs do this and You really get a nice plant this way after the new shoots get bigger than the orginal cutting I prune the orginal off the plant will get a few feet tall before it blooms in the case of my whiskers it got six foot before it bloomed and its worth the wait
