This is a two year old picture.
Shirley's Peach for tiG/Arlene
Very nice suaveolens/versicolor genes showing in that one. Correct me if I am wrong....Beautiful hybrid though whatever the parents.
Ms Brugie, that is the same as the shirleys peach i got from you. i really liked the length of the flowers, color was more like the one in the far left corner. i'm pretty sure tig was very good at marking things as we got them, i think only 3 came out of the ground or large pot, shirley's peach, VP and a XXX white hybrid grown from valleygrow seed. it was a pretty one too. (i had already looked at your contest pic). pics can be so different....
i am really sucking it up, have given away insignis rosea and (sorry) tragedy, who went to my sis in case i want it back again along with a shirley's peach.
Hey Arlene, no problem here. I'm giving some away this fall. Just can't keep them all. Will keep those with the best color and my favorites, but just don't need all the white ones, all the yellows, and so on. Do have to say that US Conn Treasurers is a great looking white versicolor. Oh my, I'm starting to think about all of them and wondering if I can really give them away. :-) What does Insignis Rosea look like? Would like to see a picture of it.
I'm glad your brug did look like this. Might be a difference in our cameras too that mikes Bonnie's picture look a little different.
Eric, I wish I knew the background of this plant, but it was one of those that had been named Versicolor Apricot and we all knew it wasn't, so finally just stuck a name to it. I know that isn't the best thing to do, but it was pretty and I hated to have it floating around without a name. Would have ended up with many names then and we could have re-traded or purchased it when not necessary, not knowing that we already had it.
this is what I have. I used ribbon to tie around the trunk, it still has it on it. If you look in the middle of this pic, you'll see a couple of them hanging down more than others. This is definitely what I have. and I love it.
I'm glad tiG. Must be my monitor not showing the color right. I think I'm going to let this one go this year. Since I don't know anything about it, I'd rather keep some of the more important ones. My basement is getting smaller as we speak....do you still want the Plumeria this fall?
yes ma'am:)
Okay, basement just got a little bigger. :-)
:) and my brug room a little smaller:) LOL!! we're totally redoing a huge bed this weekend to make it the in ground nursery. Wish we'd done it in spring, but we just didn't. That will help my space go further. Still thinking that I have plenty of room, 14 x 20 or so, already have the lights and shelves. Good high 12' ceiling, now if I can get all the junk out of it before then!!!!
Brugie, you notice i gave them to my sis, thinking i can still access and visit them!! insignis pink is the color of frosty, not a lot of difference these old eyes could tell, and it was still in a pot so that was an easy decision. still have a few duplicates, and seedlings to get in the ground. summer's half gone, should have had this done long ago. i do have 50 or so less than i had a month ago, and i'm not talking cuttings, i am talking 3 to 7 foot plants!
and I helped
(remember that shake and bake commercial? just think of me saying it that way)
lol, i hear you tig. i wish you guys had taken more.....
tiG, would love to have a place, well lit, the size you are talking about so I could actually raise flowers during the winter. Would help those cold, gray days fly by faster. I can't leave anything in the ground here. Did find a single verbena that came back up this year out of dozens.
Arlene, I will give mine to anyone who wants it as my niece already has the mother plant. I won't let them get too far away in case I need one of them. I'm having a time with my versi orange. It is covered with mites and I can't seem to get rid of them. Will be spraying again tomorrow. So far, that one and one other has them. I know that VO was stressed from too much water when we had 5 inches of rain. She just didn't have a chance to dry out, so the mites are probably really hitting her harder because of the stress.
Just wanted to say that my Shirley's Peach buds opened today. Thank you Brugie for such a pretty flower!
Franny, glad you like her. Can't really take credit for anything other than putting a name to her.
Tig, I just gotta have a cutting of this one!!
I have that one from Shirley, it's huge now and in the ground.
