ferulago nodosa - who cares for ??
I don't know what it is, but if you can tell me, I just might want some.

An annual relative of fennel; it grows about 1 - 1.5 meter tall, with long stalks that become knotty and swell at the joints as the summer proceeds; it has leaves only on the ground; it produces umbels of little yellow "flowers" which are 2-3 mm each, with a very spicy smell that attracts insects and butterflies; later, a winged seed forms where each "flower" was. It is impossible to separate the winged cover from the seed; yet, it has a very nice aroma, similar to fennel or caraway; I crush them and add them to the dough when making bread.
The plant is very decorative when dried. The story is over by middle of July. I would not call it aggressive.

Onecent, I sent you an email and the seeds are ready - I have to go to excel now and see which DG name goes with which real name, find out if you answered me and what to do next - it is complicated for me.
bitty1, did you write your "bitty1" name next to the real one so I know who you are ?? thank you
Dimitri
