Plant sitter

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

I am plant sitting for a neighbor who went away for a few weeks and didn't trust her DH to maintain them (just kidding; she knew how much I admire her orchids and wanted to share them for a while). She is becoming a real orchid pro, and I wanted to share the photo of her dearest treasure. It is named "Mtdm. Hawaiian Sunset 'Yupin'" How is that for a mouthful? Not as photogenic as in real life, but it is gorgeous!

I promised to try to at least keep her orchids alive, but I am doing my best to keep them in bloom. I am good at keeping them alive (some of mine are 4 years old) but not as good as her at making them bloom.

Please find out what she is doing to make them bloom. I have had four orchids for 2 years. Have never bloomed since I bought them, growing ok, still alive, but would sure like to make them more interesting!

My orchids bloom. I just feed them everynow and then and try to keep them cool in the summer.

When she gets back from vacation I will beard her about getting hers to bloom :) She has many orchids, and almost all bloom for months! year after year after year! She just got a computer a few weeks ago, and is going to sign up here when she masters using it :) So stay tuned, you may hear from her personally (I hope so! I am trying to talk her into it!)
