tell me the truth.I can take it!

NOT!!!! I will just die if this is not an Ecuador Pink. I have been staring at it for a month willing that bud to bloom and then yesterday I realized the bud looked just like the bud on my generic pink and I said to myself.......OH _ _ _ _, I have been had.................!!!
Today it is peeking out, testing the world before its debut. So please those of you in the know, does this resemble an Ecuador Pink??

Hard for me to tell till the flower opens.

how many slits on the calyx? old eyes here.

Ecuador Pink's buds should be hanging straight down when it is about to bloom.

Post a picture of the bloom and someone can tell you if it is EP.

Kell, I ran around in circles last year begging people to identify my brugs before they bloomed. Took awhile for it to sink into the old brain that you identify by the blooms, not by the leaves. So it's not going to happen - you have to wait like the rest of us for it to stick it's nose out. Sorry - you said you could take it

My eyes aren't the best, but that calyx does not look like a versicolor type at all. Not to mention the angle is wrong for a versicolor. As Ecuador pink is a versicolor....

I may be wrong but, leaves don't quite look like mine, which is 3 yrs. old. Mine could be mislabeled, but always thought it was an E. Pink.

Hope yours turns out to be E. Pnk.

I lay money on it being a frosty pink.......leaves look like FP.

:-) Hope I'm wrong for your sake Liz

Kell, if it's one you got from me earlier, I had mislabeled a FP as an EP, took cuttings all winter and they were wrong. I think I posted about that but it was a while back. I have some "real" EP's started now if you want one.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Cala, the EP picture I posted was from cuttings you sent me last Dec.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Eclipse.......how much money???? LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well CALA YOU ARE IN BIG TROUBLE NOW!!!! LOL
Actually the one with buds, I bought in a store for it was in a 5 gallon......... and showing true signs of immaturity I wanted blooms NOW! I am not good at waiting. Anyway, it was labeled Broadway Pink, SYN Ecuador Pink" so I fell for it.
Thanks for you offers, let me look at what I have, I may take you up on it if Cala's FP is the only one I have. Yea, guys I now have so many I do not know what I have.LOL!!!!! but never enough...............

Snow, I will bring you an EP(a real one) when we visit. I feel terrible that I did that.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Cala, I DO have the real EP from you. I posted the picture of it changing colors and in full color a few days ago. That one is from you. It's beautiful. You had sent me two EP cuttings the end of Dec. and I noticed this morning that the other one is blooming too. A beautiful full pink.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Sure Snow, keep rubbing it in! LOL

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

kell, I'll have plenty of it to share in the fall. Right now there's nothing to cut on.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell, I have some "real" ones rooted. I'll save one for you and send when we get back from Maine.
