Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

It has been a busy but wonderful weekend so far. Our oldest son and his girlfriend came up from Springfield & we had our family fireworks, etc. They spent the night and went home this morning just as we were leaving for church. He just called a few minutes ago and said they had gotten home ok.
I took a puppy from one of my bosses Friday night. It is suppose to be a miniature beagle and almost a big as it will get. However when I looked up m. Beagles on the internet I learned they get up to 13" tall. If this one stays as small as it is claimed it will it is one of those 'teacup' beagles. Time will tell. I really was not looking for another dog and will gladly give this one to someone who will give her a really good home. She is suppose to be about 14 weeks old and is smaller than an average barn cat. I don't know much about beagles so I read up on their traits as well as sizes. Lets see, they are smart, stubborn, friendly, great with children, need lots of attention and room to run and play, can be destructive if left alone at home(thank GOD for thaat big cage in the utility room), will bark and howl terribly if they get lonely, and are hard to train. Sounds a lot like terriers to me! They are suppose to be easy keepers, and have hardy constitutions. I've named her Darcy. She spends a lot of time out of doors where she wears herself out exploring her new and huge world. Hogan tolerates her well but Misty still doesn't like her.
It is hot today. I really need to have some soaker hoses &/or sprinklers going right now. the ground is so dry and hard. We had a good rain at the cafe' Friday night but almost nothing here. So strange how it skips areas like that.
It is in my plans to go to Powell Gardens tomorrow. However I never seem to be able to really plan anything anymore and have it turn out the way I planned. It really gets frustrating sometimes.
GOD bless and keep each and all of you. .
