I bet she cooked you something great! What fun it must have been to visit her and her beautiful garden!

She is always cooking Jim fantastic meals. Did she show you what a great cook she was? Beef roast, pork roasts, chicken, etc. Boy! I'm getting hungry, think I'll head that direction!

You guys, you are all so nice and I have to tell you that Kyle is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. We could probably talk forever. I think we discussed all kinds of stuff for about 5 hours today. Now for the bad part.......I didn't cook him a thing. When he asked if he could come down, he said he would get here around ten and stay for a couple of hours. Well, we don't usually eat at noon, so I figured he would want to get on the road anyway. I apologized to him for this little screw-up, but he said that he sometimes doesn't eat at all when it is hot and believe me.......it was hot. I went to town after he left and it was 99 degrees. Next time Kyle comes down, I'll cook him something or at least have a good sandwich to eat. Sorry folks, but I'm not a lunch time cook. Good meals are at night here, so Kyle, if you want a good meal, you will have to visit a little later in the day. :-)

Brugie, I don't do lunch either. I make DH a large pot of spaghetti sauce once a week and he eats that for lunch every day and he's still thin. Not fair. And Oscar knocked the shepherd's pie I made him from ground tenderloin tonight off the stove and onto the floor as I was trying to get my printer working properly. Poor guy won't get much for dinner tonight.

Jeanne, I usually have chicken salad, or sandwich meats in the fridge, but with the granddaughter here for over a week, I couldn't keep anything in the fridge. That kid eats like she is bottomless.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I'll bet it was a great visit! So lucky to live near someone so knowledgeable.....

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Kyle is a lucky man. I would love to visit Shirley someday and sit in her yard and talk and stare at her beautiful gardens.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Ya all come ....... love to have company, and I might even cook!! I'm so glad that Kyle was able to come here and visit. Guess I'm glad he wasn't upset that I didn't cook for him too. I'm not kidding, he is so easy to talk to that I don't know where the time went. Can't wait for him to come down again.
