Hi all. My name's Julie; I live in Vermont. I'm very psyched to have found this wonderful site. I am a pretty new gardener - only for the last 3 years, since we bought our first home 4 yrs. ago. I was lucky to have inherited some existing, Bishop-weed-covered garden plots. After lots of raking and weeding our first spring, we discoverd such standbys (in Vermont anyway) as Jacob's Ladder, white and pink bleeding heart, a beautiful double pink peony, some pink yarrow, zebra grass, ajuga, arisaema, brunnera, epimedium, globe thistle, asiatic lily, iris, daylily, phlox, meadow rue, trillium and sedum. Mind you this wasn't all discovered at once - just found the epimedium and globe thistle this year!
Since my first full gardening summer, I've added over 150 varieties of perennials and shrubs. I also have a large plot of bulbs in one of the gardens. I still don't know the names of a couple of gorgeous existing large shrubs in front of our house, but I'm confident you all will help me once I get around to posting pixes.
Needless to say, I'm embracing this world with open arms, a happy heart and much enthusiasm. I'm a learn-as-I-go type, and am wonderous every year of the beauty I've helped create. Vermont summers are pitifully short, so every decent day is a treasure!
I have lots of curious questions, a constant desire to learn more, and hopefully, at least a little to offer others. This looks like a wonderful community of gardening friends; I look forward to getting to know you better!

Welcome Julie!, You definitely have come to the right spot. Lots going on, and we're happy you are here!
Hi, Julie!
Welcome to Dave's Garden! There are SO many friendly people here. There is a wealth of information here as well.
Please, make yourself at home. You are lucky to be where you live, even though you mention the limitations. I bet you are looking forward to a beautiful fall season.
Here in California, the land of sunshine, is hot and dry. It has been in the 90's here, and in the 100's elsewhere in Calif.
It sounds as though you have got a great start in your garden. I admire your enthusiasm.
WELCOME!! :-)

A belated welcome from Virginia I fear Julie, but better late than never!! It sounds to me you are well on your way to becoming a great gardener. Some of us go way back but the learning and discovery goes on. I know you are going to love DG!! My hubbie was saying how he would love to live in Vermont but I am not moving again!! lol!!
another belated welcome from me too! Welcome!
Welcome from Oregon. I also have a short gardening season and a long winter to think and plan for the next one. It sounds like you are having a great time.
Hi Julie, another latecomer to this post, but nice to have you. You will meet great folks here and will learn a lot and by the sounds of your gardens you have a lot to share.
