Hello - a wee bit intimidated by all of this cyberconnectedness but willing to venture out and wade on in. I live in Georgia (a transplant from Maryland) and am finding gardening here wonderful and at the same time frustrating. The wonderful would be the long growing season and the frustrating would be the clay. I am a Master Gardener, and work in a nursing home and would love to hear your ideas for bringing the outdoors in, and economical ideas for my dig in the dirters. My husband is the saint that puts up with me and my odd hobbies and keeps the girls from digging up my plants. The girls are a black lab and an aussie. Looking into getting some fruit trees and maybe a small greenhouse ...
New to Dave's

Hi, joyctrs - a friendly welcome from Ohio. :) I think you'll find this cyberconnectedness at DG to be very fulfilling and fun. We just got back from Tennessee about two weeks ago and had a great time meeting a bunch of other DG subscribers and their kin. :) Check out the Roundup forum for discussions and the Roundup Pictures forum for all kinds of pictures of the folks and fun.

Another welcome from a KY gal! I did a project with an 'assisted living' community this spring that you might want to read about. I'm into heirloom veggies and went with heirloom tomatoes and let them select varieties to grow.
They loved the old names...some residents remembered actually growing some. And they got quite excited about all of the different colors and shapes.

Another Buckeye welcome! So glad you are here.
Another neighbor to check out for ideas on nursing home gardens is from AuntyB's. A bunch of us sent her plants to start a garden for one of her charges, she lately posted a photo of Judy's Garden. I am sure she would love to give you some thoughts on what she did this spring.
