Lycoris bulbs for trade of postage.

Valinda, CA(Zone 10a)

I dug a 30-pound detergent can of bulbs Saturday and then over half again. These went dormant just a couple of weeks ago and already some of the bulbs are showing new leaves.

Most are small bulbs that will take a couple of years to bloom. Many are nice medium sized and some are LARGE.

These are probably Lycoris radiata. They have clusters of coral red flowers with gold sheen on 1 1/2-ft. stems. Flowers in fall.
Not reliably hardy North of Zone 6.

As usual I am confused! Mine bloom while the leaves are present. The books all say the leaves die down
before the flowers appear.

Plant 3-4 inches deep and do not disturb for several years. In pots set with the top exposed. The roots need
to be crowded to bloom best.
