Very pretty and no we will never get tired of your wonderful pictures!

No, no, Liz!!! LOL Keep the pictures coming. This one is real pretty. I think that NH has it as x insignis "Orange or x insignis "Gold". It look like a good hybridizer plant. LOL Has you crossed with it allready?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

looks like my insignis gold i'd say right off. was insignis orange the one reclassified as an aurea? similar to jean pasco. mine has blooms everywhere right now.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

I have one marked insignis gold right beside this one - the colour is more yellow/gold, this is into the orange end. My pasco hasn't bloomed yet but I was thinking this one looked like a pasco should color-wise.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Never get tired of pictures of brugs. Real pretty, when I first saw it, I thought it looked a lot like my Jean Pasco,
still think so.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

So, are Jean Pasco and insignis orange the same?? Or is THIS IO a Pasco?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

i was just looking, my insignis gold right now has golder edges than the JP. the JP blooms are bigger than the IG. but, i have noticed a lot of different sized blooms on the same plant this summer, kinda cute....was gonna take a pic of IG today, so many blooms on it, batteries. dead.
btw, can i share your thread? i just ripped a calyx off White Pearl X Big, it had a brownish place on it, white bumps on the inside of the calyx. have never seen this. the good news is IT'S GONNA BE A DOUBLE!!!!

Arlene, your white pearl x big is going to be a double. Fabulous. I wonder what the colour will be. Yours is the first to bloom from all of the seeds I sent out. Hurray!!!

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

it's still green inside, curled up, but i can certainly feel and tell it's a double! i am just wondering about those bumps.... seems like it's taking it forever to bloom, has had buds for a while, has quite a few for its size.

Maybe Monika will pop in since it's her baby. Hope she's feeling ok.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

oh my! arlene, I'm so happy for you! my seeds didn't make it. perhaps it has a set of three little leaves on the trunk that I can swipe when I'm there??

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Excellent news!! But what's with the bumps? Is it part of the calyx skin or something else?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

they are whitish, lumps clustered together, on the inside of the calyx. the bud hadn't broken through, but i tore it off.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Could it be from too much moisture with all your heat inside the calyx before it got to open?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

there was a light brown place on the calyx so i opened it, white lumps under it. the leaves are beautifully green, fertilized to the point of over dosing it. there is another pod that has a place like that the rest don't. the pods are also kind of flatish. the little green tendrils are nicely folded around the corolla, and half way up or less i can feel a wad in it, can see it too, i feel sure it's a double. maybe i'll take a pic tomorrow and see if i can get it to show.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Congratulations Arlene. Can't wait to see a picture of it.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

If anyone knows about the bumps I'd like to know too. I found them when I tore open a calyx ahead of time. Maybe it's normal - as the bloom was OK.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

maybe I'll get lucky and it will bloom while we're there after all!!! but at least we'll see pictures and that's what counts!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Gosh Arlene, I'm so glad you have yours up to blooming size and with double flowers will make it a really special plant. I can only hope that mine will react the same way, but if not, I'm sure it will be special to me also. Way to go pal.....

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Ms Brugie, i have almost killed it with fertilizer...it has the greenest leaves i have. it is also in a 7 gallon bucket which surprised me that it bloomed so quickly. must have been a special seed. hope yours blooms soon, all these new flowers are exciting!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Maybe I better over fertilize mine too. I just treat it like all the others. Twice a week whether they need it or not and if I forget, maybe three times a week. Can't wait to see a picture of yours. Keep those batteries charged.....holding my breath isn't easy while waiting.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

The bumps appear to be insect bites that damaged the tissue and make it grow funny, like a oak gall bug does. They will happen in the winter too, usually can find aphids around somewhere. Sometimes they will make a bump on the seed pod too.
