Kell / tiG tomato coil

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Kell, you know your TOMMMM, well, my BARRYYY, took awhile to getting around to it, but I hope you can see the loopy thing at the top of the tomato coil - it's 3 joined together in a pot with Mollissima which is playing hard to get right now. If this thing was done in copper with big swooping coils I'd buy tons of them. As an aside - I have a bunch of pots like this on a deck with pass in them. I run wire from the top loops to the next pot loops - once they get up to the coils they run along to the next pot and the next and the next. In the late fall I just pull the wire out of the tops between the loops.

Once again Liz, after imagining what is below that deck.......I AM MOVING TO YOUR HOUSE!!!

WOW!!!! I have only seen one of these coils, and it wasn't tall at all, and I never thought of using them like this! awesome Liz

So........your tomato spirals each come with the round coil at the end of each spiral. So you put 3 together teepee style and then tie them with a thin wire between the 3 round top coils to hold them together? And then to give your vines lots of running room.......you then run a wire from teepee to teepee all the way around your deck so your vines can grow from one pot to the next and can get the long view of the water below?

great idea...........

LOL - so when you get your patent for the copper, looped top tomato spiral, I get a cut of the profits? Actually, I'd take the word tomato out of it. For the big bucks it can't sound like it's actually useful. The real money goes to absolutely useless stuff. Gorgeous, but useless.

well of course Liz!!! I want just enough profit to make a trip to meet you and Jeanne!!!

I kind of liked TOWER OF FLOWERS!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Kell, I like Tower of Flowers too, but maybe Tower for Flowers would work too since you wouldn't be selling them already planted, or are you going to get into that line of work too? If so, put me in line for the first buy. Hey, before long you won't have to work that office job. I love your cafe chairs too. Now for a question.....where do I go to buy copper tubing? Do places like Lowe's, Home Depot, carry it?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I like that Shirley....cafe chairs........ sounds like I have class!!!

And YES, Tower for Flowers sounds perfect!

I got mine at HD in the electrical department.....they have it in different widths! Your DH probably could do something very special as he made all your outdoor furniture! I hope he feels up to it soon!

Thank Kell, I hope he gets better soon to, but am thinking along the lines of a couple more months after our visit with eye dr. today.

I'm going to have me some of these spiral thingies. Too cool not to have.

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Where did you originally get these??

was wondering the same thing....
they look very nice.

Sorry - wasn't sure who you were talking to. I found them at one of my local nurseries. I'll see if they sell down near you somewhere.
