Oh Glory..........what kind of seafood in MS?? Like shrimp? My DH and I just love seafood. We have sushi every Friday night.............

Kelley,
Yes, shrimp. It's shrimp season right now in MS and I need to get some for the freezer.MMMMmmmmgood!!!!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Shrimp, snow crab, lobster tails? Haven't had lobster tails in quite a few years, not even available around here.

Now that sang puts all mine to shame. How old is that plant?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

It must be 10 years or more Liz. I tell you it just takes over. I am forever hacking it back in huge amounts! I will take a picture of the trunk to send you tonite.......the trunk is not pretty..........too many hackings but it is huge! I was thinking if I fertilized it I might actually get more flowers, do you think? Right now I ignore it except to cut it back. It needs another trim now.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Geez Kell....that is splendid...Cant hardly believe my eyes. how about a close up on the flowers now.....give us something else to drool over.

ohhh. I guess, i just didnt make the connection. wow, to see the whole tree full of blooms must be just breathtaking! Next time you hack it back, I'd love a cutting.

You make it sound like it's the forgotten child in your garden. LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

no, he is just an independant, willful child that does not need a Mom..................

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Kell,

Can I stand in line also. Very nice.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Sure, I am rooting cuttings now...........along with CG...need him also? but let me warn you..........sangs like COOL!!! He is doing so well here because the bay area is just like his original home. I am not fighting his nature. Unfortunately or fortunately, it is not my superior gardening skills at work here!

Kell, do you ever get seed? I'd like to try some if you save a pod or two.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Only once have I seen a pod but now I will be on the lookout with all this pod talk in this place! Why not just take a cutting Brugie?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

kell, are you sure it isn't all that hacking that's making it not bloom??? cause you sure know how to grow them! I know you said you just got a bunch of buds, but then you said you want more flowers. just a thought, cause everything else looks wonderfuL!!!

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Kell, is this the only mature sanguinea you have? I know you have new beauties. I could send pollen. LMK

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

I would like to trade for some cuttings if you get extras. Please email me to see if I have any plants you might need. Thanks, Kay

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

tiG, it does flower in spurts but it doesnot cover itself in blooms, though parts will have toms of blooms. It is always in a state of green lush growth. Maybe I should give it 0-10-10.

Liz......LOL..........maybe next year!! Though I am interested in crossing the sangs with the bigger flower brugs. I would like the intense colors of the sangs and the big flower shapes of the others. Have you had much success in doing this? DO they take to such a mixed marriage?

Yes, I bought a yellow....inca queen and a pink Volcanica

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Sorry Kell - so far the sangs aren't crossing with anybody but themselves, the vulcanicolas and the flavas. All smaller flowers.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

well then no wonder no big fat dark blooms!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

It's beautiful Kell.
