Heliconia and Eclipse

we grow this plant at work..Heliconia Rostrata gets about 10 feet tall and blooms last for many weeks.The handsome guy is me!!((AW SHUCKS)) I'm so modest huh??LOL

Troy..they are in a conservatory in Iowa where I work.will grow here in summer but season is too short to get them to bloom outdoors.

You should see this http://davesgarden.com/showthread/108998.html again, if you haven't seen this before. The lady in question (in the newspaper article) referred it as H.musaceae and you say it as H.rostrata. Are they similar? Last week, I managed to get a couple of these plants from my friend....dream came true. They're very young.

Dinu...the name musaceae..is actually the family name for members of the musa(banana) family. In the USA its know as Hel. Rostrata..there is also several sports of it...differ only in size of plant or flowers.Congrats on getting plants of them..they should do good for you in your climate.water well and feed alot!
