"eyes"

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Both of them are gorgeous. It's great to see them side by side and be able to compare their beauty.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

it's the first flower and first day open on PB, i expect the color to become more intense.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I agree....very pretty. Love the deep color of Butterfly, but Pink Beauty has great qualities too. Boy, it is hard waiting on buds and blooms........ :-)

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Both of them are beauties! Love the pink ones.

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Arlene, great looking plants. Those two and Ecuador Pink are my pink favorites.

Barb,
My E.Pink is blooming today and it really looks like the heat had done a job on it....wished they would do better in our heat.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Arlene..great plants...I have always liked the pinks the best...Guess its cause I have so many white and yellow types. :-)

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

the pink beauty did get darker in color. i went at dusk to do a smell check, pink beauty seems to have a softer scent than butterfly.
i watched a hummer moth go straight from butterfly to pink beauty, do you reckon i can put a BF X PB label on the PB? lol

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Arlene, just wanted you to know that my Butterfly from you has buds already. I'm sure glad it is in a gallon size pot right now instead of the ground. Those blooms would hang in the mud like some of the others have. Thanks so much for sending me this beauty. Looks like it will bloom at about the same time that CC's Pink Beauty does. CC, your brug is doing great. I can't wait for bloom from it and all the others.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Looks like I need to add butterfly to the wish list, its a beauty.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Arlene . . they are both sooo pretty!! The Pink Beauty sure has a rich color of pink. And Brugie, I am jealous . . my Butterfly does not have buds yet :(

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Frannie,
I don't think many brugs the size of my Butterfly do have buds. I'm sure glad Arlene took the cutting from the flowering region. I'll get to see it bloom this year. I'll bet yours blooms before frost too. Hope it is surviving the heat down there. So good to know you are back online again too.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

BrugNanny, someoneelse has buds too. the cuttings all came from little shoots growing up the side, you'll have buds soon. Brugie, i am glad you have buds. this fragrance will knock you out, to strong for me!

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

Very pretty!

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Very pretty.. I like the both! :)

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Arlene . . I can hardly wait until it blooms and to smell it. Strong fragrances do not bother me.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Arlene, very nice....love the color

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

color update, today pink beauty is almost the same intense color as butterfly. i might like pink beauty better.

Beautiful. I just got a cutting of pink beauty from Liz. Hope it turns out this nice.

Its a beautiful one. Almost red in the picture. I think I saw pictures of this one as aurea or x candida Pink somewhere. Is it the same plant and what kind of Brug is it?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

well the bushes are side by side. the PB goes the same color as butterfly, and that nice open flower right there is pregnant!!!!!!
Brugman, how long do aurea pods take to mature?

FSH, TX

To be honest Arlene, I have never timed them. I just pull my pods when the peduncle turns yellow or when they look ripe. Generally the seedpod softens enough within 48 hours of the peduncle turning yellow that the pod just slides off. Otherwise, a sharp twist generally snaps the pod right off. I sure hope you get us a Rothkirch from these two. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Brugman, i have one BF X Rosabella or vice versa also, it's an awfully pretty plant.

FSH, TX

Bf x Rosabelle, well that would most certainly be easier than Rosabelle x Butterfly, but both are possible.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Brugman, it's one of your seeds.....

FSH, TX

Ahh, you sly devil. I did get seepods both ways. Thats how I know you can do it. Rosabelle is a booger though to get seedpods on. Sorry, I had forgotten.

FSH, TX

Just had to add...she should be ready to bloom by now or darn close to it as that was last years cross. Ahh, heres hoping for you. I must confess I am tickled pink that you got on of them to take off for you. Did you ask it if its the Rothkirch look alike?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

i'm just sorry it's my only one. i drowned several, sent some to someone i can't remember who. the third one sat in a jar of watersorb for about 4 months, i took it out and planted it and it sprouted right away. i just don't remember know which way the cross was, seems BF was the mom. this little seed wanted to live though, can't wait to see her bloom. how are yours doing?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I sure hope my Frosty turns into a Butterfly!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

ha! I put a jinx on your pinks!!! so don't count on it!! LOL!!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Maybe your Esmerelda will be pink, lol.

Hamilton, Canada
