Alice....the real name is Eilleen Gallo...was a hybrid from Southern calif named after a wife of one of the famous Gallo bros that sell wine. The name has changed as the plant changed hands with the growers.I had this one years ago..and would love to grow it again.I used this cultivar before it was widely grown for its genetic qualities..makes awesome offspring when used in hybridizing. First time I saw a huge clump of it growing in Calif I bout feel over..so unusual because of the bronze floiage with buff/pink flowers.....I had several offspring I named "Improved Eilleen Gallo" beacuse I breed out the pink veins in it so the flowers were clear. :-) Boy do I ramble on..!LOL

Gorgeous canna! I love the pale pink flowers against the very dark foliage. Excellent contrast!

Where did you get this canna? I would love to have some in my garden too. Do you bring them in for the winter or heavily mulch them, so they don't freeze?

Gosh Alice, she is a really pretty one. I, too, would like to know where this one can be found. Do you have any trouble with cucumber beetles eating the blooms? They have been having dessert every day at my house.

Wowzers!!!!!! I gotta get this one for sure!!! My Pink Sunburst is darker in shade, and a dwarf, but wouldn't they go great together???!!!

Yes, Eclipse, this is one of Ben Hager's. I grow all his except 'Ambrosia ..
which has just eluded me so far. lol
Yes, also know as 'Eileen Gallo'. Though I did not know who it was named for.
I used this name version as it is that way in the PDB.

I have 3 clumps this year so should have extra in September.
Photos really do not do justice here.

I have a better photo 'Eileen Gallo' from 2001.
Going now to look and will post.
