Really like the Lime Zinger in this photo.
Along the walk3
love this!!! it's mostly shade?? does that brug bloom there, and which one is it? I have a lot of shade too, and want to know which ones work in the most shade.
I love your use of bold beautiful foliage.
I'm also in zone 7, but further N.E. in the mid-Atl. area. Would any of these grow well where I live?
Are you on the Mississippi Delta??? Everything is lush, and rain forrest-like.

Shirley1md,
I am afraid that they would not make it in zone 7. I am pushing it for some of the plants in zone 8. Some of the plants are listed as zone 9 but I have had some success with pushing it one zone with mulching.
Guess I was a step behind ya Bward!! :-)
Kyle,
I love the look of the Lime zinger. I will give it a try in front of the 'Black Magic'.
eyesoftexas,
I live about 70 miles from the gulf coast. What helps is the auto watering which comes on 30 min. 2 x day on tropical beds plus an abundant amount of time released fertalizer. It may be cheaper to move to FL in the long run.LOL
Just perfect! Can you name all the plants for me? For example - what's in the top right corner?
Boy, now I see why you have such incredible list.
Liz, what is your zone in Vancouver, BC? To answer your question on plants--(r-l back) banana, canna in front, brugmansia, alocasia odora Costus speciosus variegata.
(r-l front) coleus, daylily, ipomea marguerite, yellow and red coleus xanthosoma 'Lime zinger', blood leaf costus. The bed was added this month. Have the philosophy –if you have weeds, it means you don’t have enough plants.
Like the philosophy - I'm 8B with tiny pockets of 9. But wet in the winter, which I think is the problem
Hattiesburg is zone 8a and we have wet winters. How hot are your summers? Do you have a large growing season?
Beautiful - Tig, if you get one of these you just must get that room fixed up quick!!
