And you leave them in the ground - sigh.
Just how low a temperature can they take?

You are so lucky to have your yard look like a botanical garden. I'm "green" with envy.

Any of these hardy enough for my growing zone?

one zone more and I might could do that :(

Tig, Some of the elephant ears are zone 8--you might try pushing it one zone, if you have some southern exposures to plant or against the house. I never tempt fate--always keep one in greenhouse just in case.

Bward,

I live in zone 8. It snows here every winter and sometimes, but not always, goes to 15 degrees. I would love to have a black taro in my Dark Side Garden. I don't have a greenhouse yet. The only plants I have been able to keep alive over winter are my two tropical hibiscus. They are the only ones that I dig up.

Does it snow at your place?

Evelyn,
Rarely do we get snow but we do go down to 10-15 degrees. The Black Magic should come back if you mulch well.

Bward,

Sounds great! I lost one last year, but I got it on a trade and it was VERY small. I'll try again. Thanks so much!
