kyle's pink and ramblings.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

my candida pink bloomed, thought it was stuffed double, it is getting 10-11 hours of full sun...all day long! i like Kyle's Pink much much better than the candida pink so far.
Eric's candida white hybrid opened, it is awfully nice but then candidas seem to be favorites of mine. gonna put whiskers on it for sure as it has really long tendrils. rosa traum when she blooms too.
Pink beauty should be open tomorrow night, Sunday latest. can't wait to see. she has long fat fluffy calyces.
White Pearl X Big as the wierdest calyces, rather flat and wide, especially towards the ends. maybe cause i've been feeling trying to see if they might be double blooms...i don't think they will be.
Does anyone know why Brugman isn't around anymore? i value him so much, only an hour away or so, 50 miles as the crows fly. he's got the growing down for our area. i also have more of his hybrids to bloom yet, so does Robin. have given away about 25 brugs in the last week, 3-7 gallon pots, lots of them with blooms and buds. will be mailing stuff in the morning. someone named pebble is getting a short spring peach with blooms that just opened today.

also i had put some seeds in water crystals in a mason jar. took out the BF X Rosabelle a month ago and it came up in a week or two.
now, these seeds had been in there since january. two that i had peeled i noticed this week were sprouting, one had 1/2 inch long or so root coming out. so i planted them, and one has come up!! looks right nice. at dark those 2 leaves were reaching to the sky.

I just love the way they reach for the sky at night.

Bf x Rosabelle is another cross I am making more of this year, Arlene, of course I have crossed a yellow aurea type hybrid with very velvety calyx, velvety top branches, and smooth serrated leaves to Butterfly as well.
