No, I haven't named a new brug but a small Frosty Pink was blooming in front of an Abraham Darby rose. Exactly the same color.
Frosty Abraham
How about that! Both beautiful shade of pink.
I like Abraham Darby. Nice Combo.
They look excellent together!
does look good, i like that rose!
They look really pretty together.
Liz...you are the Martha Stewart of Dave's!
Oh gosh, Kell, does that mean the SEC is coming after me???
They can't prove anything, you already sold the stock...didn't'cha?Anyhow if they question you, just tell them brugs are the only stock you know about and they're breeding stock.......
OK - I'll just tell them that I had no insider information that there would be a huge run on Frosty Pink just before I dumped them? I can quote you? (Speak into the microphone)
ROTF.....
Liz, my new room is looking more appealing to me now that I know how color coordinated you are! Will I have a bowl of Abraham Darby roses by my bed when I arrive?
Liz, your rose is beautiful. Do your brugs seem darker in color up there compared to what we grow down here in the heat? Your FP seems darker than mine. Very pretty.
Kell, you gets what you gets.
And brugie - what can I say - I've been complaining about the color of my monitor so I don't know. This year the pinks are pinker and the yellows are yellower. I'm unofficially, with no scientific backup, attributing it to Miracid. Which is not Miracle Grow. Miracid is 30-10-10. Formulated for acid loving plants.
If I'm wrong, I'll know soon enough - and I'll be begging you all for replacements.
Liz, I think I'll try one dose of it. Can't kill them to get one feeding, can it? I use it on my impatiens when they start getting a little yellowing and it brings them out of it, so these big trees should be able to handle a little Miracid.
brugie.....you use miracid on your impatiens?
Well my beautiful CG took a huge turn for the worse today. All of a sudden he needs to be watered daily starting today and I missed a day so he went not only wilted and limp............. but yellowish also.......... he has revived but still suddenly is yellowish.......... he must have filled this HUGE pot with roots. he had tons of flower buds on him and still does ......hope it holds...........
Brugie - I was about to say that I think they'd be able to take a bunch more than one dose. But you have different soil and different water and with everything you grow, you know best.
But you have very alkaline water and soil?
Liz, I've never had my soil tested, but according to Kyle, we must have very alkaline soil. Our water comes through a water treatment facility, but I also have the luxury of having a cistern that catches the rain water from one full side of our house, so I can water for quite a while with GOOD water. I might use one brug as a test case and see what happens if I really give it a go.......Thanks.
So Liz and Brugie........no sympathy for my poor CG?? I will tell him immediately of your lack of concern! You are both in trouble now!
Chuckie will survive Kell. LOL
The way I understand it he was born and bred right where you live. He's a tough old brug.
PS - I'm watering every day too! As is everyone else.
Kell you are lucky you don't have our Iowa weather. I'll be watering the potted brugs 2-3 times a day when we get back into the 90's again. Liz is right. Old CG is a hardy guy and can take about anything other than a huge infestation of bugs and mites. He gets a little cranky when they decide to feast. I've even had mine drop most of his leaves and the buds hang on and he still blooms like crazy. Well, shoot.......I just remembered, I don't have CG. Thought I did and he ended up being Dr. Suess. So, just apply everything I said to Dr. S and I'll just leave this post as it is.
LOL Brugie.......I do not know how you know what you have as you have so many and so much going on!
