I've grown these in the past, but didn't get round to it this year :(
They look great Baa. I think this variety's a pleasant flavour as well as being attractive. Have to admit to preferring 'french' beans to runners though.
Never seem to water mine enough Lilith, that's what comes of living in the SE.

These are growing in a pot, we used to grow them in the ground but for some strange, inexplicable reason the garden got much smaller ;). They are also under the canopies of two trees to prevent the blackfly on the young plants but I think we can safely bring them out into the sun now for the bees to visit.

I agree Philomel they do have a good flavour and even though they don't produce as well as the modern types we just don't know what to do with the surplus ... runner bean chutney this year I think. Anyway who wants 2 tonnes of runners every year!
