How fast should a Brug grow? I planted mine in a 29qt Container in March, Moved it outside in May (it lost all its leaves), now all the leaves are back + some, but its still only about 15" high. Are these slow growing plants or am I doing something wrong?
thanks

Why is my Brug growing so slow
It will take a while to fill the larger sized pot with roots then the top will take off. Should move the plants up to just a size or two larger each time. :-)
tamlamb,
Have you been giving it enough food and water?...Brugs love to eat. I use Osmocote and Peters 20-20-20...give them a drink of Peters at least 3 times a week.
Well...I guess I can jump in here! I received some cuttings last year that I watered and fertilized all summer and they just kind of sit there and did not bloom last year! But this year they are growing and have buds on them...I am so happy! Also I am growing them in shade and they only get evening sun and they are doing great!
Hope this helps!
Rebecca
Tamlamb, some kinds don't grow as fast as others. i would do like Glory says and fertilize heavy. some people say you have to move them up slow. I have never personally found that to be the case. i have stuck unrooted cuttings straight in the ground to root.
Rebecca, as a general rule the more sun a brug gets, the better it will bloom.
Ditto what they said. I've found that the bigger the pot, the faster it grows as long as it gets lots of fertilize and water. I do have a few varieties that are slow to get started. If the cutting came from the flowering region of the plant, it doesn't get nearly as tall as if taken from below the Y.
I fully agree with Kyle.
I have read that some brugs grow roots faster at first and others grow the tops faster than the roots to start. Monika and Kyle, have you tried starting in bigger pots?
