Well, it is almost full and finished aside from rocks, plants and landscaping. LOL Went down to the creek and decided I am not nuts enough to drag sheets of rock up the sides of a hill. Maybe in a few days or week when I feel better. I did have to use the cheaper blue liner, but I am thinking it will barely show when I get things the way I want them. Hopefully tomorrow I will get the pump in and decide how I want it to flow back in. So anyway, here is where I am now. :)
Getting Closer
Looking dang good to me. You are so talented. Keep me posted on your progress.
Billy
Looks good and ready for plants and fishies, almost.
Wow!!!! Great job Badseed! Hey, I still need your addy to send you some Iris pseudacorus (and other stuff); it looks like you'll have plenty of room for it in that pond. How big is it???)
I did go down to the creek Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for the largest flat rocks I could find. I used a hand cart to pull them through the water and up the banks. Yesterday they went into place after the final digging, adding sand, laying the liner, and adding water. Some of the hardest work I have done in some time in this hot weather. The pump and fountain will be here Saturday. Hope to post a photo soon.
PS I put the liner in upside down and the numbers and lettering (white) show. So I am going to add a blue dye to the water to cover up the mistake. I am told the dye my not be good for fish.
I have made plenty of mistakes myself. I am sure I will even be sorry for using a swimming pool liner, but I didn't have the money for pond liner and couldn't find a roofer willing to part with any rubber. So be it. My full expense on the pond right now is $30 and had it been any more, it would not be. I was just dying to have a water garden again. We had a small one a few years ago and had to take it out. Since then the frogs moved next door and that made the kids sad. So, sometimes you have to do what you can do and pray for the best. We are not even finished yet and are finding tiny frogs all around the garden. The kids are thrilled and that is good enough for me. I guess the dimensions are about 11x8 but haven't had time to go grab a tape measure. Hubby got out of the hospital today and I have been back out there working with the kids. It is starting to look really nice. I will have to line up some plant trades soon as we need some water plants. LOL When we stopped at the grocery earlier, they were marking some bad looking plants down to 99 cents. I bought several! After watering, many of them look just fine!! Tomorrow we are going to go to a bait shop and see what kind of fish we can get cheap. Wish us well. :)
Badseed...looking good and good luck to you!
Golddog...you can buy pond shade to turn water blue or black! It is safe for fish and plants!

Hi imaseedpicker, have decided on blue and ordered it. Been wondering if the fountain will look strange with blue water coming up from it. Oh well.
