My latest pond .

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

Just finished this one in June. It has hatched several generations of tadpoles this spring.
No lack for frogs. lol

Cannas around pond are a few of my dwarf cultivars.

Garden behind pond is my species canna hummingbird garden. Although seemingly peaceful to the eye ..
this small habitat is a busy place!

Seedpicker, I like the big ponds (o:. So much more you can do with them.
I do try for 'easy to maintain' as my growing area is large and involved.

I had mulched off the native stone around the pond edge (just come up as I dig ..great rocks, I save for good use)
under the cannas with a good layer of mushroom manure .. cannas just love that! But with weeks of heat,
hot sun, no rain ..I over mulched with grass clippings to keep the cannas from 'stressing'.
Really helps alot and improves the soil, too. But looked prettier with the mushroom manure.
