there are a couple of brugs listed that i saw and want to make sure they are named properly...
Charles Grimaldi is shown as yellow-does this one turn orangish or remain a solid yellow?
Another one is listed as versicolor pink and FADES to yellow- anyone know the correct name for this one? is this a true versi pink?
thanks

identification questions
joydie,
i'm not even going to try to identify a charles grimaldi. anything that i have in my yard that remotely resembles a cg/drs i have fondly started calling Dr. Grimaldi.
as far as the versi pink, i dont think is a brug that turns pink TO yellow. my frosty pink starts out white, turns yellow and then pink.
dont know if i was much help,
jen
bward and eclipse are the only people i can think of that are familiar with versicolor pink. all my CGs (many) turned out to be DrS......
Gosh MsJen,
Now you have me wondering if this is really a suaveolens pink although the site said otherwise. The flower shape certainly looks like a suaveolens. It seems that colors listed are the same, but on the site the color change is in the reverse order....hmmmmmm. This greenhouse claims they've grown brugs for over 15 years.
joydie, i am, by far, NOT an expert at brugs. but i can say that i havent seen, or heard, of one that bloomed pink and then changed to yellow.
i also hae ep and it blooms and dies pink.
out of curiosity, what site are you referring to?
jen
MsJen,
Here is the link.

****edited the link to show the brugs page****
They are in Kirkland, Quebec and they do ship plants to the U.S., in fact Marilena indicated that most of their orders come from the U.S. and locally in Kirkland.
I never thought to ask what other Brugs they have.

Versicolor pink always starts pale yellow and the next morning after opening turns pink. Not the other way around. :-)
Charles Grimaldi does take on an orangish glow in some weather conditions..out west it usually is a gold..not yellow color.Everything depends on temps, water, feed, humidity, etc.Color in brugs can be variable.
Kyle, MsJen and Monika,
Thanks-this is definately a multihybrid Pink as Monika indicated with strong suaveolens influence and not a true versicolor.
I want just a few correctly labelled plants. I'm eager to pollinate over the winter when I have blooms.
