This is from the cleopatra canna. I kept all of the green sprouts cut off and this is the flower from a bicolor stalk. My friend don`t cut any of hers down and her blooms are bicolored. Red and yellow mixed like a beadered iris. I an very dissapointed in this almost solid red flower. I will not cut any more green ones off. You said yours were yellow, did you have any red in them?
Busybee, yes my flowers are solid yellow, yellow spotted and streaked with red, and solid red, sometimes all these colors are on the same spike.
WOW, what a plant. Cannot imagine a plant with blooms like that. Bet it is spectacular.
