For anybody who has this plant, Brugie, Tonny, brugcrazy and a few others, mine has formed a Y. The seed went into the soil on February 20. This one is in a hurry to bloom this year.
Sang x Sang
Way to go Liz. I'm still waiting, but started just a little later than you did with the seed. How hot does it get in your neck of the woods? I tried to grow them in the bay window, but decided that the light wasn't good enough. Moved them outside and they stressed a bunch. Had two others that I was growing outside and they look much better. Guess I'll just grow them under a tree and maybe when it cools off, things will happen.
The temps this time of year don't vary much - high 60s to mid 70s. Under a tree sounds about right with a breeze if you can scare one up. Mine are under a large deck right now - only get a few hours of early morning sun. These are ones to never, ever let dry out.
Good luck
Thanks Liz, So far they get morning sun and are doing okay. Holding my breath that I can just keep them alive and to blooming time.
ohhhh LIz....how exciting, you will have blooms in no time at all.
I had noticed that several of my brugs had y'd, then not 2-3 days later I saw buds. they are still fairly itty bitty but they are there. one fell off, ithink the darned earwigs sucked the life out of it....
That is great news Liz. Tell the bud to grow fast, so we can enjoy pictures of it lol Two of my specimens are about 1½ ft. high with characteristic, broad, lobed leaves and I started to look among the top leaves after the Y, but nothing so far lol but it can`t be long. They grow very fast. I grow them like Brugie with a little morning sun and they like it very much.
btw. Ludger from the German Brugforum will come visiting us Wednesday. Is it OK, that one of your sanguineas move with him back to Germany? His house look like the one we live in, so I know, they will feel at home and there will be other Brugs to talk with lol LMK
Tonny
I'd be honoured Tonny - He's the same as at the Yahoo english forum?
