Something is wrong here. I thought these were to have sky blue blooms. This sure isn't blue in my book. I like the foliage, but it is rather sparse at this point. Hope things look better with the next bloom.
Missouri Marble Datura.
The only blooms that I have gotten have all been white.
Frannie, did you get this one too? Someone posted a picture of their first bloom and it was a pretty blue and then the next one was white. Well, I didn't even get the first one right.........Oh well, I guess I'm giving up the blue to have the nice foliage.
Do what just white, I taught suppose to be color baby blue oh my what is happening to it. I paid for that for nothing. That's Rip-Off! I don't understand why it said Missouri Marble??? It might be not the right name of this one. =(
RR, sometimes plants do not come true from seeds, based on what i've read in some threads and research on the internet. similar to the triple yellow datura i grow from last year for the 1st time. i planted single and double yellow datura, came up with a triple in flower. no one will ever know the mystery of Mother Nature. just my 2 cents worth.
Brugie, a variagated datura? How many kinds of daturas do you have? did you start them all as seed? When do you start growing them for spring planting? I want you to post a picture looking out over your whole garden or as much as you can stuff in a print frame.........please. Thanks!

Ok MVR, I will wait and see what happen . I just always want to have something with blue flowers.
The picture I saw looked blueish too,but oh well,I like he foliage anyhow.Mine have buds, can't wait for the blooms!Did anyone figure out how to root cuttings?
I don't think it's blue per say....notice the ad mentions Upright flower whispers "Blue Skies". Have you ever seen something that was so white it looked like it was blueish....just my 2 cents.
Datura inoxia
quiquecuspida
‘Missouri Marble’ (Waddick)
Variegated, with leaves of blue-gray and marbled white, this Datura has huge, distinctive, upright flowers that whisper '"blue skies". Plants are compact and well branched. Plants can be brought in and stored in colder areas, Coolitude
Kell, this plant was purchased. Abutilon was so nice to order them for us and then send them out to those of us who wanted to buy them. They were grown from tissue culture. Will not come back like this from seed. I'm going to try some cuttings later. Will try a picture of the garden later. It is so strung out, I don't know if I can get much in the picture. Should learn how to do the panoramic view thing.
Afterthought....didn't answer you about the datura. I think I have 5 kinds in the garden, but my double purple isn't growing at all. Wish I had one of RedRose's triple purple daturas. It is beautiful.

Gloria, I guess I was going by a picture that someone posted way before we even thought about ordering them. That was when I went on my search to find one and didn't have any luck at it. I'm sure the photo was probably enhanced somewhat too. Good photos sell plants. :-) Bet you are totally right about the color of the bloom. It is still pretty, even tho it isn't "sky blue".
Shirley, I've only grown one Datura this year and it is a triple purple. It has a large flower bud on it now and if all goes well and I get a seed pod I'll send you some seeds.
Thanks Terry, I'd love to have a few of them.
The foliage of this datura was what attracted me to it, not the flower.I sure hope someone learns how to do cuttings from it, since the post office killed all four of mine by sending them on an extended tour of the US.
Okay Judith, you talked me into it. Will take a couple of cuttings this evening and keep them in the house. I think they would melt outside today. It is horrible.
