Gee, this is going to be a fun place, I can see that. I have been perusing this sight for a few days and sent my subscription money in and I am sure I will get a bargain. I am here in the Willamette Valley in western Oregon about 60 miles from the Pacific Ocean. Generally we are pretty mild and feel as though we have a little Paradise here. My hubby is a farmer and so my garden just keeps encroaching into the berry fields. If it is ok I'll add my two cents here and there, God bless all. Joann from Oregon
I am new to Dave's Gardenland!!
Lenjo, a big hello and welcome! I don't always get around to welcoming our newcomers (bad, bad person I am), but I try to slip by here every now and then and say hello!
So glad to have you gardening with us - if you need any help getting around, just holler :)
Welcome to DG Joann from So. Calif. Since you have been lurking for awhile, you already know that we are a very friendly group of friends and gardeners. I have learned so much from being here and have made some great friends.
Just feel free to post anything you want regarding gardening and you'll get an answer real soon. Don't forget to check out all the other great forums also. It will be a little quiet here for a few days, as many of the regulars are at the DG Roundup in Tenn. Just wait until they get back and here all the great gossip. lol
Donna
Welcome, Joann :) Yes, a lot of the group from the mid-west are in Crossville, Tennessee this weekend for a DG round-up! Sounds as though they are going to have a great time if you've peeked at any of the round-up threads they've posted. I'm in OH and it doesn't sound like it even compares to your little paradise! Did you or your hubby grow up Willamette Valley?
Happy to have another gardening friend :)
Thank you for you warm welcome, My hubby is a native webfoot as we call Oregonians born here on account of all the wet stuff we get in the winter, lots of rain, we actually get pretty tired of it sometimes. I moved to Oregon from Oklahoma at 8 years old, so I feel pretty native to here. go-vols , I have family in Tennessee, an aunt, uncle and their some their kids with their families. It is beautiful there. I would love to see Ohio too. Northern California is home to my sister and I love to see all the fun morning glories, bignonias, and all the other wonderful perenniel vines you can do there. Take care!!!!
A hearty North Dakota welcome to you Joanne. You are going to love it here.
An Ohio welcome Joann. Fascinating place, the Williamette Valley. I am sure you must have long since gotten tired of all the references to The Oregon Trail, but you must know how much all of us raised (and raising others) enjoyed learning about your part of the country. Sounds like paradise, especially for gardeners.
Kathy
welcome Lenjo, your 2 cents are mighty worthy here! you probably haven't realized it yet but...your hooked :0 it will take a while to learn all the benefits here. I've been here a year and still don't know all there is to learn and do. Not to worry, anyone here will help you if you have a problem.
Welcome Joann. You will like it here at DG. People are really great at answering any questions you might have.
I'm from Ohio also.

Hi, Joann! And welcome. A (virtual)friend of mine introduced me here to Dave's Garden. The people here are quite friendly and helpful. It is hard enough to get the housework done in between gardening and going to work. And now I find myself wandering around here for more time than I could believe.
Is it cool most of the time during the summer where you live? If so, maybe you have some blue poppies. It is way too hot here in Northern California during the summer, except maybe around the coast.
In any case welcome and happy gardening!
Evelyn
