Fantasma (shredded white?)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Hi,

I just ran out this morning to get this picture. It has changed a lot and now, I think it might be a keeper. Has several more buds on it with one other opening right now. Being a "slow bloomer" really fits this one.

I just keep it because it is so different.

I like it, I like it, hope mine from you turns out to be the same!

This bloom is much prettier than your last one. Is this the poor one that had mud on it? It survived great! Can't wait for mine to do something!

Yep, this was the mud lover. :-) I hate it when it rains hard and splashes mud all over the flowers. I mulched the big bed, so that doesn't happen, but maybe the brugs will get tall enough one day and stay clean.

I just knew you would get a better bloom than that first wadded yellowish one!

Jean, this one started out the same way. I'm going to keep my eye on the next one. It is opening now. That first one never did open any more. It is the reason I thought this brug would go to the compost pile. :-)

Brugie, that is a great looking bloom. It is definitely different. Does it have a strong aroma?

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Brugie . . that sure is a pretty bloom - - so glad it did not go to the compost pile. Did you pollinate this one?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks you guys, it is much better to look at since it finally opened up. Yes, it has a great fragrance. We had company tonight and they had bought a brug 3 years ago and it still hasn't bloomed. Sent them home with a new one and told them to toss the other one. They have done everything right, but it just won't grow. Mona took the brug bloom with her too. She spent the whole evening smelling it. Think I just hooked some more people on brugs. They will be coming back to see others in bloom.
No Frannie, I didn't pollinate it. Nothing else blooming and there will be time down the road anyway.

Just another spelling error.....

Shirley, I'm glad it turned out to be a nice flower. It looks so much better today. :)

Thanks Terry, I hope they all look this good. Smell good too......

Has anyone gotten it to cross polinate?

CC,
I have had no luck crossing it but I keep trying. I was going to get a picture of the inners of the flower but right now I don't have one blooming.
