Are you SURE that's just a double? My triple golden queen looks JUST like your blooms.

OH MY it is a triple!!! Now I'm even more excited!!!

Kentwood, LA(Zone 8b)

I am so glad. It sure has some beautiful blooms on it and should make plenty of seed. Watch the seed pod and clip it off before it burst open.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I am so excited, i just planted a triple purple, a triple yellow, a white tinged with purple and a white. Your picture is just great. How long has that plant been in the ground? thanks

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Kell, please save me some seeds of your triples, both colors. If my double white blooms I'll save seed from it. Have D. Wrightii Regal (nice single white) and also the variegated Missouri Marble. The white has been blooming for a few days and the MM should open a bloom tomorrow night. I love Icebud's triple yellow. Very pretty.

Do I have to impregnate the blooms???? I have not yet taken Fertilizing Blooms 101. I am still in Cuttings 101. I am in the remedial class I am afraid! What if I send you a 4 inch plant........... will it grow in time for you to get seeds?

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

kell, these Datura are self pollinating. You don't have to pollinate them like you do the Brugs.
icebud, very pretty blooms.

Brugie, I'm sure I've got a few extra triple yellow and double purple datura seeds, email me.

In order to guarantee that the seed pods don't burst and drop the seeds, wrap a big square of nylon netting around the green pod and secure around the stem with a twist tie. Then, when the pod pops on it's own, cut the pod, netting and all, from the plant, label the seeds, and put them out to dry somewhere where the critters won't eat them. They may appear dry, but it takes weeks for them to completely dry. If you don't thoroughly dry them, they will mold.

Thanks Kay.............. I may pass this class yet!

I have a yellow datura just like this. It is a young specimen. I also am supposed to have a white, and purple. They havent bloomed yet, so time will tell.
