anyone have Pollen donation?

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Anyone have some pollen to donate to a good cause? Cause I need it lol!Snow sent me some Solid gold and versi peach,I used them but they were not very fluffy.I think I had them too long before I used them.I've always used real fresh, not sure if they will work and I need my pod fix!!!Its to cross with my Isabella. My white has buds too but it will be a while.I'm thinking Jean Pasco, whiskers,EP,butterfly etc.....anyone have any???

cc, A while back Eric sent me some EP that he said was kinda old and had been in the freezer. I used it and every flower took. The pollen I sent you had been taken the morning I sent it so it should have worked. Maybe I got it at the wrong time if it didn't work.I have a Jean Pasko in bloom now if you want some pollen. Maybe it would work better if I sent it on a q-tip instead of sending the whole anthers. that might work. When I pollinate I use q-tips.So when I opened the packages,I tried to get the pollen on the q-tip.The solid gold didn't seem to have any that got on the q-tip.The versi had some.I should know in a few days if they worked, right?

cc, I started off using q-tips but found I was losing a lot of pollen in the cotton. I started using small paint brushes and have had much better luck. Plus you can see all the pollen on the bristles. This just works better for me.

CC, I have a few blooming. If someone will tell me how to ship it, freeze it, etc, I will send you some and also bring you some when I come up.

I've got a lot of different brugs blooming but I'm new to this and can't really ID them very well. If you want I can get Roz to help and send some of what I have. That's interesting about the old, frozed pollen. DH said that they freeze dried it and all kinds of precautions at the forrest service.

CC, I just answered your email. I'm so sorry I'm so slow this week. I don't know how I missed it.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

cc, sure do hope you got my envelope by now. My postman took it Saturday. He is becoming a problem to everyone on my road. Visits on his route and comes real late. He didn't even come to my house Fri. as I'm the very last on his route and out of the way.He was running late as usual.Hope he still does'nt have it in his car. LOL

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Well thanks guys,I appriciate all the offers.Snow,I got the pollen but it was to late to pollinate,no more open blooms, but the good news is that there are more Isabella buds, plus EP,my unknown yellow, and some others have buds and my white(the father of the seeds I sent to everyone) is blooming. So if anyone wants any of my pollens let me know.I would ,by the way I'd love some Whiskers pollen.I don't have one and I love the tendrils on it. Love to see those tendrils on some crosses.Sorry it took so long to get back to this.I'm just now getting caught up.......

I may still have some frozen Whiskers pollen. I'll have to check. You can store it till needed.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

How long does it store in fridge or freezer?Would it store better if its stored in a vaccume seal bag?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I don't know about the vacuum sealed bag, but I think either Eric or Kyle said a couple of months in the fridge, a year? in the freezer. I could be wrong, lol.
