Here's the tall bananas that I dug from my Mom's few years ago. They do make fruit thick and long. Sometime they do make small, thick banana. Taste so good. Took this picture while it raining. I don't cover them during winter or water them.. Just forget about it since we live in Zone 8/9.. Now I am going to find me a red banana tree soon.
Nice, Mini. My DD in San Antonio is in the same zone as you, and they grow in her back yard like yours. Tropical gardening is an entirely different matter from the rest of the country. I hope you get a red one.
