daturapod...sorry...its a virus at home that emails itself out to everyone that has emailed me at some time..I can't get the virus out of the system yet..it disables all virus programs once it gets settled in..I would never ..EVER knowingly send someone a virus...do NOT open or even view any emails from me brugie@radiks.net I am trying to get the system rebooted without disabling the virus program..but its very hard to do once its inside. All web users need to update their virus programs weekly to avoid this.. Kyle, get an emergency disk boot at bootdisk.com. worked on DDs computer a month or two ago when the windows and mcafee boot disks didn't. when finally restored the hard disk died within 24 hours. it's a good thing to have.

Kyle, at Norton.com you can download a fix that will work in DOS. That's what I used when I got it a few months back. Never fear, we're okay, you just don't let anything happen to your computer!!! we need you here.

I got the bug too. My Norton doesnt work anymore. But it seems, I got it with a LiveUpdate from Norton itself during a download.

monika, try www.grisoft.com it's free and works good.

I am having a world of trouble with mine. All of a sudden things started to happen. I have used Norton and McAfee and even went to safe mode but still cannot get this removed from my computer. I even did a restore and it still did not get rid of it. I was up until 2a.m. this morning trying to get this fixed and it still is not.

Tig I am going to try what you suggested. Whatever this is, I think it disables Norton and McAfee online shows 8 infected files but it cannot repair or delete. I am so aggravated and I certainly don't want to do a disk format and loose everything that I have on my computer. Once I get this fixed I am never using Internet Explorer or Outlook Express again. It will be Netscape Navigator for me. This just takes too much time and when there is a new virus there is really nothing that can protect you if it gets to you before the Anti-virus programs are aware of it.
Tig . . I sure hope this works. I cannot even receive any email - - this is just so crazy.

brugnanny, sending you a link!!!!!

I think we are all having computer problems of some sort. I only use Netscape because it seems more protected against the viruses. My problem is my mother board is croaking. I thought computers were going to make our lives easier.

I did wind up doing a total format. Don't let it go too long. go to Norton and get the DOS fix.
