Good Morning all! Lisa - I will keep you in my prayers and please, please, take care of yourself!
It's hot here again today and humidity is high.
Yesterday was dd's last cattle progress show as part of a "junior". Kind of a bittersweet feeling. She will show at State Fair FFA show in September and then that will be it. She didn't do as well yesterday with her steers as she had hoped - kind of strange judging! But that's the way it goes and we kind of mumble under our breath and accept it. Can't believe though when we see parents being so vocal about the results. Ruth - I'm sure you know what we're talking about. Although it seems to go on in everything.
I think I told you that dd is interning at the county extension office. She is doing a lot of work with livestock and 4-H kids in the absence of the extension educator. She loves it accept for some of the parents. One, in particular, is royal pain in the a**. I told her that she just has to accept that as a part of life.
EvaMae - your post about Shad's firecrackers made me realize that I'm glad they outlaw a lot of that stuff in Nebr. Although that doesn't keep a lot of Nebraskans from emmigrating over the border to Missouri to bring stuff back into Nebraska. I heard some bottle rockets in our neighborhood the other day. I personally woundn't mind, as dry as it is, that they outlaw all fireworks, except for those set off by the professionals.
Well better go - have to send a bunch of confirmation letters for a workshop that I should have done last week.
You all take care and please pray for rain for those who need it!
