I can't tell you what kind or color this is, but I am just wondering if it looks healthy to ya'll?? Still no signs of buds yet but I "think" it has Y-ed off hasn't it?? I look the thing to death hunting buds but I'm sure it will surprise me one of these days! hopefully soon!!
What do ya think?
It should bloom this summer, isn't it hard waiting on the first bloom? I "look" them to death too, then am pleasantly surprised when one blooms that I didn't notice.
LOL Trust me I will notice! There isn't a leaf unturned after I'm done lookin for the buds!
Isn't it fun waiting for that very first bloom. When my very first one was starting to bud I had a path worn in the grass from checking it so much.
Mollybee,
Your plant may need some iron. Will help greenup those leaves.
Looking to death! Haven't heard that one. I traded for my first brugs last year from someone here at Dave's (maybe Cala?)and don't remember who I traded with. But, anyhow , my two starts have made it through - being broken off at the top by a deer, and a spider mite infestation late Spring on my plant porch. Now they are leafing out and growing. So I'm with you all the way on the "looking to death" When I get my first bloom I will be very excited.
Thank you Bward. I was wondering what could be done.
Yep, the iron does wonders. Sorry I didn't mention that, but it's good we have so many experienced growers here to help out!!
Molly, you know the old saying "a watched pot never boils" maybe if you go a couple of days without looking it will make buds. I know that is nearly impossible though, sort of like me leaving the seedpods alone, lol.
You are soo right Cala, I think it would have to rain cats and dogs for several days in order to keep me out of the yard. But maybe just maybe I can resist for a few days. Did I read somewhere that the uneven leaf growth is one of the first signs that buds are on the way??
Yeah it was posted on one of my postings.
I went out and checked and I had 5 that had y'ed and all of them had the eneven leaves. The ones that had no y didn't have the uneven leaves. A good thing to help determine if they have y'ed for all of us rookies.
I know what you mean Jim! Brugs are new to me this year and I find myself learning something new about them everyday! Thank goodness for all our good friends here that can teach us huh?!!
