New Kind of Brug.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Got up this morning and found this new type of brug cutting in my flat of cuttings. Guess I won't have to worry about bugs around this area for a while. He had settled right in and doesn't appear to want to leave. Supposed to be 90 degrees today, so I'm sure the damp sand will feel good to him.

I was afraid to enlarge the picture - thought it might be a snake. LOL Who's he sitting on?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I guess it is fitting, because he is sitting on Tragedy 2001.

Brugie, that's fitting, lol. I've had them do that in my cuttings flats. They stay a while and then move on. I have a gray tree frog that lives on some brugs by the patio. I have to be careful if I'm spraying anything to not get it on him.

Boy! He is a fat one, must be eating lots of bad bugs. I had one bury himself in dirt in pot and I could see something was wrong, with this big bump, so I took the garden shovel, dug down and almost cut into him! The soil was nice and damp for him. Didn't need him in there.

ROTF LMAO

Awww, he's a cute little guy.

S,
I had one of those little guy in one of my pots yesterday...he scared the #@*& out me when I went to grab the pot.

They're good guys, they eat the slugs. I had one all winter in the GH, don't know what happened to him but he must have moved out.

You had a toad brugcrazy? I've lived out here for 30 years and have never seen one.

I thought it was a snake. Better get stronger glasses. LOL. Had a hard day.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Brugie . . . he looks so comfy. I have them in my greenhouse also and when my grandson who is almost three comes over, we have to go look for toads.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Is that a 4 inch pot? He sure fills it out! Too cute.

Great picture, Shirley lol Hope he get some slugs lol We have them here too, but I have not seen any since spring, but with all the Black wood slugs we have, it must be toad paradise lol

Yesterday I mashed several larvaes. They were sitting in Brug tops eating all the small leaf buds. These are larvaes of the Cabbage-Butterfly, which has greenish white wings. There are awful lot of them here too.

Toad Report!!

Mr. Toad is still in the pot. He didn't leave it all day and this morning was burried a little deeper. It is only a press pot so about 2x2x4 inches, I would guess. I watered him along with the cuttings and he seemed to enjoy it. Have a great day everyone.

We are dealing with Shingles at our house and poor DH is the one suffering. They are on his face and scalp. Sure put a damper on our summer. Long story, but if I don't post much it is because we are spending a lot of time at the DR and eye DR.

Brugie, that picture is just hysterical. I love it, and it seems he or she is there to say, could she be laying eggs?

On a serious note, I am sorry to hear about your woes with the shingles. I hope you can get it under control sooner than later, my best wishes for a speedy recovery for your husband.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Oh Shirley, That's too bad. Shingles is not a very pleasant thing to have and I feel bad for DH and you. Hope it gets cleared up soon so you can both enjoy the summer..If there's anything I can do just give a holler.

Thanks everyone. Jim is feeling just a little better today, but is getting spoiled and that is my fault.

Mr. Toad was still in the flower pot this morning. I carefully picked up the pot and transferred him to the flower bed. I think he will be happy out there with the moisture and bugs. Maybe he will find some of those cats that I can't see.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Gee Shirley, I do not think you can spoil a man who looks like that. My heart goes out to him.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks Kell, he does look pretty awful right now. Gotta love him though. He is taking this like a real trooper.
