I will always like pink the best. And that is REALLY pink. Were these pictures taken recently?

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Ecuador Pink picture was made in August, two years ago, the picture of its offspring about three weeks ago.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Are you keeping it? Have you named it?

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I am going to keep it because of its good points. Its sisters show no signs of Ys yet.
I have some names to choose, but havent deceided yet. It looks very good in reality, so it deserves a pretty name.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Your Mother's name? Will this be the one?

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

They are both beautiful. The offspring has a different rich color and I really like it.

Monika,
Another beauty!!!!!!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Gorgeous! Beautiful even!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Are the Ecuador Pink in the US such a dark, great pink that goes all the way up the entire length of the flower like Monika's flowers are? thanks

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Kell - I could be wrong but I believe Monika said she originally got it from Logees.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Yes, My Ecuador Pink is a dark pink that goes all the way up.
Monika, it's very beautiful!! I used to think I loved Charles Grimaldi the best, but I may change my mind.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well Cala, then I may be in great luck because you may have sent me a cutting of your EP! It is looking so great, THANKS AGAIN! I talk to it daily, saying grow grow grow. I am saving a great place to actually plant it in the ground in my limited space garden for it!! Which is hard to do -- to have an unplanted piece of bare dirt looking at me daily!

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Monika.....always winners when you grow something!! :-)

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

I second that Eclipse!
great job Monika :)

Monika, another gorgeous cross.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I really like it myself and keep telling its sister to take a example of it.

I dont know yet, if I am going to named in remeberance of Mom, there are nearly 200 new crosses more, which havent flowered yet and there could be a beautiful double, I dont know of.

Its the Logees Ecuador Pink and I consider it to be a very valuable breeding partner.

Monika, Those are really beautiful. I sure wish it was easier to trade.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

busybee, We all wish the same thing.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Very lovely Monkia and I know that will be many more out of your 200 new crosses.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I hope so. Wished, I knew already LOL.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'd like one of each please. :-) Man, Monika, these are just beautiful. Love the color and the shape of the blooms. You do such good work. I hope someone over here can get results like these one day. Guess it would help if we could get a Rothkirch to help us get started.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

i am wondering about working backwards to get to those genes, mating rothkirch's siblings. i have one seedling of BF X rosabelle. i imagine there are ways to do it. i would have to be lucky, don't have any hybridizing experience. right now i am a pollinating failure. have my fingers crossed on one that hasn't fallen off yet. even the critters have not set pollen on one butterfly bloom.

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Monika,
Is the offspring more coral colored than her mother, EP?
EP is still one of the most beautiful brugs but this one may beat it. Great job--Monika and Mother Nature!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

It has more coral colors as EP and a virgorous growth.

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

Very beautiful Monika.I wish I could get seed of that cross
but I guess seed imports are out of the question now.
Arlene.I think it's the heat.I had good luck pollinating
earlier but nothing has set pods for the past month.

JT,
I haven't had any luck lately either. I have been pretty good about pollinating the flower the first day. I did notice those moths around here at night. I'm sure I'll have seed pods that have been pollinated by the moths soon.

FSH, TX

Yes, I know,...bringing back up some beauties though...Now Kell, tell the truth...have you created anything this stunning?

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Monika,
Not only are the flowers beautiful but you have improved the one factor on EP that was lacking. A thicker wall, which will help the flower to last longer. Do you know the original cross for EP?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Brugmansia, you obviously have not seen my posting of my quadruple purple burg with pink picotee edging. It is beyond stunning!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Okay Kell, if you've got it, I want it!! :-)

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Brugie, they are just beautiful. I love them both.

Patricia

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Brugie, I think Brugmansia was slightly offended (and not believing me) that I would claim equal fame to Monika's paradise in another posting.......... and was coming in to defend her standing from a false interloper............. LOL

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Barbara, all I know is that EP is supposed to be a wild form from Ecuador. My own plant originates from Logees.
It would be interesting to find out about the parents. The 34 seedlings out of this cross differ a little bit, but not much.
