L'Amour again

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Flowers of L'Amour. Top: during a hot summer day. The plant was recovering from a severe root rotting. I planted it a pot without holes on the bottom. DH forgot this one while drilling holes and I didnt check.
Bottom: Color at the moment.

So that's what very wet feet looks like. It sure looks happy now.

Wet feet can cause much damage. It took me a while to find out. Never thought about a pot without holes.

So how did you recover it? Just pulled it out of the pot, drilled the holes and put it back? Did you have to let it go completely dry? Cut back the roots? Living in the wet zone here so this is something I probably should know.

I cut all damaged roots and planted it in larger pot (from 10l before into a 20l) but did not water after planting. I just kept the soil mild moist (close to dry) and brought the plant to a place protected from sun and wind. It started recovering about two weeks later, noticable when it started to loose the wilted look.

That's good to know - thank you.

I should have posted the picture of my L'Amour on this thread, but it is on Owen's thread instead. Kyle has done a good job of caring for her this year for me. I think her color is good for being in the house.

Yours' is a beauty, Brugie. Looks like Kyle did a good job.

Have to thank Kyle and the late Mrs. Neu for this beauty. I'm just thankful to have one.
