Brugmansia Herrenhauser Garten

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

I am so bummed. My Herrenhauser Garten that
I bought in the Spring has not grown at all and has
lost most of it's leaves. We have had alot of wind this fall and I just can't seem to get this one going. I am afraid that I am going to lose it.

That was suppose to be alot of wind this Spring. I also had it planted in full sun. I just took it up and put it in a pot with morning sun afternoon shade. I sure hope that this helps.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

they grow really slow. put in big pot, feed, and you changed the light to what is said is good. I did the same thing. if you do lose, and I manage to not, I'm starting some side shoot cuttings, but it will be a while, took those tiny tips like Cala does.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

It does grow very slow. I'm going to root some more as soon as some more of those little side shoots grow big enough to cut.

Jerodsmom,
My HG is now over 5 1/2 ft tall....has put on blooms twice and all the blooms fell off twice. Monika said this is one of the down side of this Brug....maybe one day I'll see it bloom.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Glory, Is there any special environment that would allow it to flower or is dropping the buds a normal thing for this plant?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh Glory that must brak your heart when they drop!

Snow,
I think that is pretty normal for that Brug. :0( Got more buds forming now....we'll see.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I've got mine in the green house, we will see how it does in there. It's about 4 feet tall, no Y yet. It's in a 20 gallon pot. I think I'll give it some bloom booster and some more Osmocote.

Cala,
You mentioned a thing called STS or SST that y'all use on Christmas Catcus to keep the blooms on where can I get this to try on HG?

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Well, now I am not sure this Brug. is worth all the
effort if it doesn't even hold it's buds.

But Patricia, just think of the thrill when you finally get a viable bloom!

I agree with Kell....it's like WOW I have a bud on my HG maybe by some chance it will open.....crossing my fingers and toes.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Well now, I have managed to lose my Herrenhauser
Garten and my double white. I probably have been moving them too much. These are the only two I actually bought and neither one has made it.
Needless to say, I am feeling a little down about this.

Beauty is useless if it doesn't blossom. My HG has never made a Y yet.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

ah, but the promise of beauty can be more exciting than the actual realization of it.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I lost my HG too...couldn't take the cool spring....

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

We had heavy winds and rain last night but my HG are still standing and look ok. On the other hand I'm very upset as the three c. Dbl White flowers that I pollinated with pollen from my only EP flower are all laying on the ground.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I have a couple of side shoot 'cuttings' started. will be a bit before they are ready, they are teeny. But I will mark them with Patricia and Karyn if you want me too.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Snaw that so sad,I know we were all looking for that cross to take!Tig,YES!Please, hey ,I'm not proud,I don't mind beggin!Especially if I ever get one to bloom!

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

TiG , that is very kind of you. I sure won't say no. I don't mind begging either. Another person has offered me a very small start. Having two might be a good thing in case one doesn't make it. If it turns out I don't need it, I will let you know and you can offer it to someone else.
